Operating
Pressure for Eductors
|
|
These
eductors are designed to achieve rated flow with an inlet
pressure of 200 psi. They will operate at lower inlet pressures
than this, but the flow rate and percentage rate will be
affected. For more technical information on these eductors, call
for our operating and maintenance instructions(Form No.
EB-98069).

Check List if
Eductor Fails to Pick Up Foam
|
|
These
eductors are very basic in design and very easy to operate.
However, there are many other conditions and situations that can
cause the eductor to fail in picking up foam concentrate. If
this happens check the following: |
|
- Mismatched nozzle
- Partially closed nozzle
- Clogged nozzle
- Hose lay too long
- Metering valve closed
- Nozzle elevated too high
|
- By-pass valve open
- Ball check stuck
- Metering valve clogged
- Plugged pickup screen
- Metering valve set
improperly
- Kink in hose

There
are occasions in fire suppression when greater expansion rates
of foam solution are needed; such as when polar solvent fuels
are involved; when using protein or fluoroprotein foam; or when
securing a spill. For these special situations a foam aeration
tube can be quickly and easily attached to most of our
combination fog nozzles in order to acheive a higher expansion
rate of the foam solution; up to 15:1 in some cases. |
